Post surgery Recovery Rates

Abstract

Surgery is a draining experience on the human body, and post-surgery health is generally less than 100%. Modelling how the human body recovers from surgery can be useful in checking how a patient is proceeding, and in determining post-surgery operating budgets. This project explored the post-surgery recovery rates for patients undergoing Total Hip Arthroplasty and Total Knee Arthroplasty, and what patient factors (age, gender, etc...) impacted these rates. Future projects may surgery types, and how to use recovery curve information to determine optimal post-surgery therapy session schedules.
